IT Security Analyst

Department: Admin - IT/IS
Location: Remote

General Description

The IT Security Analyst is responsible for working with people and technology tools to help us meet Opus Agency’s information security obligations with confidence. The primary function of the ISA is to help establish, analyze and report on the effectiveness and adherence to the practices, policies, procedures of Opus Agency’s information security risk and audit compliance programs. This role will work closely with IT leadership and representatives across the organization in implementing ongoing improvements to the company’s security and audit posture across a large suite of enterprise SaaS systems.

 

Essential Functions

  • Test and evaluate operating effectiveness of security controls and adherence to policies
  • Maintain and administer tools used to identify risks and threats to company and client data
  • Create summary reports for management outlining the results of security and audit controls testing as part of the company’s information security risk and audit compliance programs
  • Work with IT leadership and peers to prioritize, plan and deliver risk responses
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and peers to implement security and compliance best-practices
  • Create documentation for security best-practices and IT standard operating procedures
  • Stay informed of latest threats and security vulnerabilities and recommend solutions to improve policy, procedures and technology in use by the Agency
  • Participate in external security and compliance audits and related action items
  • Participate in security assessments of industry partners and technology vendors
  • Participate with IT leadership and peers in support of risk management assessments, disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing exercises

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge, training, education, and/or experience
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience administering and supporting mission critical cloud-based and enterprise SaaS IT solutions (such as email, file storage and sharing, DNS, directory services and identity management, CRM, videoconferencing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the function of common enterprise-level cybersecurity tools such as security awareness training platforms, MDM, DLP, SIEM, CASB, IAM
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CIS, SSAE-18 SOC 2, PCI-DSS, ISO27001 or similar
  • Have or willing to obtain certification in one or more of the following areas: CISSP, CSSP, CISM, CISA, QSA and CIPP/E

 

Physical Requirements

Individuals will be required to sit for the majority of the day and will be required to stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required.  Individuals will be required to travel via airplane, train, taxi, car and/or other means of transportation as needed.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to areas where those areas require the use of personal protective equipment. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
