Employee Communications Specialist

In the role, you live and breathe communications. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will write copy for a variety of initiatives across mediums to engage, inform, and celebrate our business, our culture, and our employees. 

You have the chops to create content plans, set priorities, and then write and deliver. Your experience working across teams and balancing multiple simultaneous high-profile projects helps you thrive within a fast-paced agency environment. 

Your work will generate positive employee sentiment, simplify complex messages, amplify (and hone) our executive team’s core messages, and elevate engagement across all of our people. You will write content that is consistent with our brand style and tone.

We are looking for talent with phenomenal communication and writing skills. Experience in corporate communications and project management in a marketing environment are important qualities too. Your enthusiasm, ownership of your work, and positive attitude will help you gain the trust of your colleagues.



  • Minimum of 2-3 years of internal/employee communications experience at a professional services firm and/or journalism-oriented firm

  • Writing samples/portfolio showing a broad body of work, including internal newsletters, employee-focused campaigns, intranet copy, employee bios/profiles

  • Proven experience delivering as a self-motivated, hands-on contributor in a fast-moving environment 

  • The successful candidate must be organized and have excellent command of language with strong writing and interpersonal skills



Your time will be spent writing internal, employee-focused marketing messages. You will:

  • Own, edit, and publish a monthly internal newsletter

  • Own, nurture, and actively update our Intranet, including it’s home page and core messages

  • Write employee-focused emails, messaging for internal campaigns, employee bios, social posts celebrating our employees and their professional achievements 

  • Support our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee with their efforts and messaging

  • Bring a range of messages to life, from serious and confidential to lighthearted and playful



  • Exceptional writing skills 

  • Ability to develop and maintain a writing style and tone consistent with the brand

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and focus, while working under fast-paced, deadline-driven and often demanding situations

  • Ability to drive a sense of urgency while working collaboratively across the organization

  • Professional, confident, positive, and calm demeanor

  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to handle complex issues and tasks with minimal supervision is essential

  • Ability to think independently, make sound decisions, and solve a variety of problems
