IT Security Administrator

Department: Admin - IT/IS
Location: Remote


The IT Security Administrator is responsible for working with people and technology tools to help us meet Opus Agency’s information security objectives with confidence.

This is an excellent opportunity for a systems administrator with SaaS platform or cloud-based infrastructure experience to move into security-specific work aligned with common frameworks, and gain practical experience supporting audit and compliance activities. It would also be an opportunity for a junior security administrator to move into a larger role with more authority and scope of responsibility.

The primary function of the ISA is to work with members of the IT staff to ensure that best-practice security configurations and data protection processes are in place across all end-user devices, a large portfolio of enterprise SaaS systems, and cloud-based infrastructure.

The ISA will be responsible for documenting and reporting on the effectiveness of the policies and procedures of Opus Agency’s information security programs, including risk assessment and audit compliance.

The ISA will work under the supervision of the Director, Security and Compliance to help establish new policies, educate others on best practices, and to implement new enterprise-grade security-focused IT technologies.



  • A keen attention to detail
  • A thorough, organized and methodical approach to managing technology
  • An affinity for documentation, process and audit trails
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience administering and supporting mission critical cloud-based and enterprise SaaS IT solutions (email, file sharing, identity management, collaboration tools, etc.) OR a minimum of 5 years experience managing analogous services on-prem
  • Basic experience with AWS and Azure infrastructure strongly preferred
  • Experience with laptop/mobile remote management technologies and practices
  • Familiarity with the function of common enterprise-level cybersecurity tools such as MDM, DLP, IAM, SIEM, CASB, etc.
  • Familiarity with the role of security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO27001 or similar
  • Experience working on audits such as SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA, SOX is strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting large organizations (500+ employees) is preferred
  • Have or willing to obtain certification in one or more of the following areas: CISSP, CSSP, CISM, CISA, QSA and CIPP/E



  • Work directly with IT team members in the administration of SaaS services to ensure all are configured to best-practice standards
  • Work with helpdesk staff and administer RMM/MDM tools to ensure company endpoints meet all security configuration requirements
  • Consult with development teams on cloud infrastructure security guidelines
  • Create documentation for security best practices and IT standard operating procedures
  • Perform regular internal review of systems, accounts, and data management to fulfill security audit documentation requirements
  • Maintain and administer security monitoring tools used to identify risks and threats to company and client data
  • Create summary reports for management outlining the results of security and audit controls testing as part of the company’s information security risk and audit compliance programs
  • Stay informed of latest threats, security vulnerabilities, and recommend solutions for technology in use by the Agency
  • Participate in external security and compliance audits and related action items
  • Participate in security assessments of industry partners and technology vendors
  • Participate with IT leadership and peers in support of risk management assessments, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery testing
